Carpet Weaving Technology is a skilled vocational trade offered under the State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT). The course is designed to preserve and promote the traditional art of carpet weaving while equipping trainees with modern techniques used in the carpet manufacturing industry. It provides comprehensive training in hand-knotted, hand-tufted, and flat-weave carpet production, combining craftsmanship with quality standards required by today's market.
Completing this certified vocational course opens doors across public sector undertakings, private industries, self-employment, and National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) opportunities.
Examinations & State Trade Certification (STC) conducted by SCVT (J&K Board of Technical Education — JKBOTE).
Eligible for Indian Railways, Power Grid, State Electricity Departments, PWD, and Defense Workshops.
Qualify for 1-year paid apprenticeship training under NAPS with government monthly stipend support.
